Video is an electrical signal or a digitally encoded signal of a sequence of pictures (or frames). In other words, video describes moving picture content that is captured, transmitted, and stored electrically, rather than on film.

Video can be captured with video cameras (capturing scenes in the real world), or generated synthetically through Computer Generated Images (CGI). For example, game console systems output video that is rendered from 3D graphics systems using powerful Graphics Processing Units (GPUs).

This site is for anyone who wants to learn more about the art and science of video; how it is captured, processed, encoded, transmitted, stored and displayed.
